Here at Eight we’re pretty excited about Lightbox and Particle Tree’s Lightbox gone wild.
I like Particle Tree’s modifications a lot, especially the OOP setup. The only thing that nags me are the AJAX calls and the fact that the content loaded through AJAX isn’t indexed by search engines.
I’ve taken the liberty to modify it again a bit and have Lightbox show inline div’s instead of content loaded through AJAX. Probably not as hip as Particle Tree’s setup but definitely more search engine friendly.

But when you use lightbox for a photo gallery (as I do on www.arjangeurts.nl) I don't think this script is useful, because it will load all the images at once. In my example I've got some pages with 40 photos, each 200kb. That would be a 8MB download.

Yup, nice indeed. Although I must say that the complete prototype library is a bit overkill for these 'simple' scripts… Minor Detail :-)
