Adobe has released the SWF file format specification, I presume the SWF format for Flash 8.
Reading it leaves me with some serious questions concerning various open source projects. Specifically item number 3a & 3b.

Kijk nog maar even goed naar onze webcam, want vanaf a.s. maandag 27 maart, zullen wij in een nieuw kantoor zitten!
We are moving! Click ‘Read more’ to skip the double dutch ;)
The owner of one of the largest media corporations, Rupert Murdoch, pretty much admits hes got a daunting task ahead of him.
This guy owns MySpace, Fox News Channel but also the New York Post, Britain’s the Sun and The Times of London.
Currently there is the tendency of moving desktop apps into the connected web space. Eventhough I am a big supporter of this movement, I would still rather see my whole desktop merge into a connected world where the clearcut online/offline boundary as we know it now blends into each other. Maybe “blended” & “transparent” are the words I’m looking for.
Microsoft’s Chief Technical Officer, Ray Ozzie has launched an interesting idea in this direction called Live Clipboard.
How crucial will mundane desktop application tasks such as copy & paste, or drop & drag be to the success of web applications?
A recent post on Scoble’s blog got my attention. Want to know the secret of Google, Craig’s list, MySpace and Marktplaats? Ugly Design.
Anti-marketing design as Scoble calls it.
Let’s take a look at a few ugly-but-succesful sites. Marktplaats.nl is a Dutch e-bay like site. It’s so freaking ugly, I even bothered to call them a couple of years ago to tell them that they really should do something about their design. Their response: ‘we really like our design, thank you’. A year later e-bay bought Marktplaats for € 225 million.
del.icio.us isn’t the prettiest babe out there as well. For me del.iciuo.us stands out as: ‘hey, this site really handy, but it really could have looked better’. Yahoo bought del.icio.us for a rumored $ 40 million.
I won’t even mention how much MySpace was bought for.
